Ans: - Precipitation means anything falling
from the sky which includes rain, snow, hail etc. on the surface of the earth
when they become too heavy and unable to float in the air.

Ans: - The process by which water keeps on
changing its form and circulates between oceans, atmosphere and land is known
as water cycle.

What factors affect the movement of ocean water?

What are tides? How are they caused?
Ans: - Tides are the rhythmic rise and fall
of the ocean water that occur twice in a day. The strong gravitational pull
exerted by the sun and the moon on the earth’s surface causes the tides.

What is ocean current?
Ans: - Ocean currents are streams of water flowing
constantly on the ocean surface in definite directions.
GIVE REASONS OF THE FOLLOWING STATEMENTS:-
Ans: - Ocean water is salty because it
contains large amount of dissolved salts.

The quality of water is deteriorating. Why?
Ans: - The quality of water is deteriorating
because we get it from polluted water sources. These water bodies are getting
polluted due to dumping of untreated waste, sewage, pesticides and decayed
material in it.
