Ans: The major components of the environment are natural, human made and human. E.g.:-
Natural environment: It consists of all the objects created by nature (biosphere (living things), lithosphere (land), hydrosphere (water), atmosphere (air)).
Human made: Things that are made by human beings (buildings, park, bridges, roads, monuments, industries.)
Human: Consists of human beings (Individual, family, community, religion, educational, economic, political situation.)
4.      Mention four uses of water?
Ans: Water is the most essential for everyone. The four uses of water are as follow:
Water is used for drinking.
Water is needed to grow crops.
Water is essential for cooking.
Water is needed for cleaning.
5.      What are the different types of weather we experience?
Ans: We experience nearly following types of weather.

6.      What is an ecosystem?
Ans: All plants, animals and human beings depend on their immediate surroundings. Often they are interdependent on each other. The relationship between the living organisms, as well as the relationship between the organisms and their surroundings form an eco-system.
7.      Camels are common in desert area. Give reason.
Ans: Camels have cushioned feet which can help them walk on the sand very easily. Camel can also live without water and food for even a month. Moreover they can store water in their hump. So camels can live in desert easily. That is why they can easily be found in deserts.

1.      What is an environment? How is the environment beneficial to us?
Ans: The place, people, things and nature that surround any living organism is called environment. It is a combination of natural and human made phenomena. The environment provides us with air, water and land.
2.      What is lithosphere? What is it made up of? Name the number of resources provided by it.
Ans: Lithosphere is the solid crust or the hard top layer of the earth. It is made up of rocks and minerals and covered by a thin layer of soil. It is an irregular surface with various landforms such as mountains, plateaus, plains, valleys etc.
Lithosphere provides us forests, grasslands for grazing, minerals, and land for agriculture and human settlements.
3.      What is atmosphere? What is the composition of atmosphere? What is the importance of atmosphere?
Ans: The atmosphere is a thin layer of the air that surrounds the earth. Nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, dust and water vapours. Atmosphere protects us from the harmful rays and scorching heat of the sun. The changes in the atmosphere produce change in the weather and climate.
4.      What is biosphere? Explain it with a diagram.
Ans: Biosphere is the narrow zone where air, water and land interact with each other to support life.
5.      Why man modifies the environment?
Ans:  Man modifies his environment to fulfil his needs and to live a comfortable life. Humans learnt new ways to change environment and invented many things to satisfy his needs. The discovery of fire the invention of wheel, the development of trade and commerce, the invention of engine, the industrial revolution and the advancement of transportation and communication are some of the examples of human growth.
