Q1. Aashima sneezed just like her
father. Do you have any such habit or trait which is similar to that of someone
in your family? What is it? Whom is it similar to?
Ans: - Yes, I laugh like my
mother.

Ans: - Yes, some of my features
resemble with that of my family members. These are:

Ans: - When people compare me
with my grandmother, I feel proud because my grandmother is very beautiful.

your family? Laugh like the person.
Ans: - My elder brother laughs
the loudest in my family.

Ans: - Yes, some of my mama’s
(mother’s cousin brothers) are in my age group. My own mama (my mother’s real
brother) is 20 years elder than me.
Q8. Does Nilima have curly hair
like her nani’s? Now you look for some special trait in your sister or brother
(could also be cousins). Like the colour of eyes, dimples in cheeks, height,
broad or sharp nose, voice, etc. See if this trait comes from father’s side or
the mother’s side. Make this table in your notebook and fill it. An example is

brown. They are 30 cm. long.

hair in my family.

your height? Measure yourself from head to toe and write how tall you are?
Ans: - Yes, I know how to measure
our height.
It is measured by using a meter
scale or an inch tape.
My height is about 120cm.
Q13. How tall do you think will
be when you grow up? Is anyone else in your family of the same height?
Ans: - When I grow up, I think I
will be of 6 feet.My dad is almost of the same height.
Q14. What is similar between
Saroja and Suhasini? What is different?
Ans: - Similarities:- The facial
features, eyes and the height of both the sisters are same.
They resemble to each other.
Differences:-

Saroja knows two languages Tamil and Marathi,
Whereas suhasini does not.

She is good in singing, but Suhasini cannot.
Q15. Do you know any twins? What
is similar in them? How are they different?
Ans: - Yes, there are twins in my
class. They look same. But their habits are different.
Q16. Have you read or heard
anything about polio? Where?
Ans: - Yes, I have heard about
the polio in T.V., radio and newspaper.
Q17. Have you read or heard any
news about pulse polio? What?
Ans: - Yes, I have heard about
pulse polio.
The government has been running polio eradication programme.
Under this programme all the children below five years are
vaccinated against polio free of cost on specific dates as decided by the
Health Ministry.This vaccination is available free of cost in the government
hospitals.
Q18. Do you know anyone who has polio?
Ans: - Yes, there is a boy in our colony who is suffering
from polio.
One of his legs is not functioning properly. So, he uses
walking stick.
Q19. Are there times when you do not talk loudly in front of
some people? When? With whom? Why? When can you speak loudly?
Ans: - I do not talk loudly in front of my teachers and my
elders. This is because I respect them and I am a little afraid of them. I can
speak loudly with my friends.
Q20. Some people use a machine in their ear to help them hear
well. Some use stick or spectacles to help them in other ways. Do you know
someone who does so?
Ans: - Yes, my great grand papa uses stick and spectacles and
my great grandmother uses hearing machine.
Q21. Talk to the people who cannot hear well. Find out if
they have this problem by birth. When did they start to have a problem with
hearing? What difficulty do they face?
Ans: - Yes, my great grandfather cannot hear well. He was not
like this since birth. But this is because of his old age. Due to this he has
to face many problems.

He cannot listen to
radio or T.V..
