ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:-
1.       How do you think stereotypes, about what women can and cannot do, affect women’s right to equality?
Ans: - Stereotype about what women can and cannot do affects the women right to equality in the following ways:-
                                  I.            They do not get the same support as boys do.
                                II.            They are considered inferior to men.
                              III.            They are not sent to schools.
                              IV.            They are promoted to see marriage as their future.
                                V.            They are assigned household works as their priority job.

2.       List one reason why learning the alphabet was so important to women like Rashsundri Devi, Ramabai, Rukeya?
Ans: - Rashsundri Devi, Ramabai, Rukeya were able to achieve their goal only by education. They were able to convince the society by writing their ideas and their stories or setting up schools. Thus, learning alphabets was so important because it will not only help them in their social life but also helped them in pursuing their dreams.

3.       “Poor girls drop out of school because they are not interesting in getting education.” Re-read the last paragraph on page 62 and explain why this statement is true.
Ans: - The statement “poor girls drop out of school because they are not interested in getting the education.” Is not true because:
                                I.            In many part of the country especially in rural and poor areas, there may not even be proper schools and teachers who teach on regular basis.
                              II.            Parents are not willing to send their girls to distant schools due to lack of transportation.
                            III.            Parents are not able to bear the cost of education.
                            IV.            Boys are given preference over girls for seeking education.

4.       Can you describe two methods of struggle that the women’s movement used to raise issues? If you had to organize a struggle against stereotypes, about what women can or cannot do, what method would you employ from the ones that you have read about? Why would you choose this particular method?
Ans: - The two methods of struggle that the women’s movement used to raise issues are:-
                                            I.            Campaigning: - This method is used to fight discrimination and violence against women. Campaignings have led to a new law passed to give women some legal protection. 
                                          II.            Protesting: - Women use public rallies and demonstrations as avery powerful way of drawing attention to injustices.

        If I had to organize a struggle against stereotypes I would like to employ the methodof raising awareness among public. We can spread the awareness among the common people through street plays and public meetings.
